Catching a wave at Crowdy head is a great option for beginners and experienced board riders. The headland offers protection from strong winds and a sloping sandbar provides smaller waves. Beginners & kids are best to surf when Lifeguards are on patrol.
Bigger waves are sort on south beach. With east and south easterly swells providing surfers with numerous breaks. Waves average 1.6m with surfers preferring the bars inside the north entrance wall. These spots can be hazardous due to the strong rips and more challenging surf conditions so make sure you’re experienced.
