2.1 State Emergency Service
The New South Wales State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is a volunteer-based emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community in times of natural and man-made disasters.
The SES is the lead agency for flood, storm and tsunami in NSW. It manages responses to these emergencies and helps communities prepare through planning and education.
The SES is made up almost entirely of volunteer members. Volunteers fill a range of different roles. You can learn more and submit an online application to become a volunteer here: https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/
